Precept Wine vice president of retail operations Brooke Pace announced the promotion of Michael Ervin to Waterbrook Winery tasting room manager, effective immediately.
“After months of proven hard work as the wine club manager and interim tasting room manager, I’m delighted to promote Michael Ervin the permanent role of Waterbrook tasting room manager,” Pace said. “Anyone who has been to Waterbrook in the last six months has had the opportunity to experience the world class customer service that Michael and his team are consistently delivering.”
Ervin joined Waterbrook in 2011 as tasting room associate after relocating from Arizona to Walla Walla to play college golf. Ervin will now oversee all staffing, sales and operations including hospitality, events and a thriving direct-to-consumer program.
In addition to Ervin, key team members consist of Daniel Soler, hospitality coordinator, and Ashley Galan, newly appointed direct to consumer coordinator.
The 5,000-square-foot tasting room and visitor center opened in 2009. Set on a 75-acre property, it shares space with the adjacent winery, scenic ponds and a private bungalow. Waterbrook is a popular site for weddings, community gatherings and an annual fly fishing event.
Waterbrook Winery, founded in Walla Walla in 1984, is the region’s fourth founded winery. Known for consistent outstanding quality showcasing the best of the Columbia Valley and the Walla Walla Valley, the winery has garnered more than 100 combined best buys and critical scores of 90 points or higher. Under winemaker John Freeman, Wine Spectator named three of Waterbrook’s wines to its Top 100 the past four years. Waterbrook Winery is part of the Precept Wine family of wineries.
