Merryvale Vineyards & Starmont Winery Hire Mark Evans as New Chief Operating Officer
Merryvale Vineyards and Starmont Winery are proud to welcome Mark Evans as the newest member of their executive team. Mark will take over duties as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will be directly responsible for day-to-day operations of Starmont Winery focusing on sales, marketing and general management. His responsibilities will also include broad market sales of the more exclusive wines of Merryvale Vineyards.
Mark joins Merryvale and Starmont with 26 years of experience in the wine industry, most recently as Managing Director at Negociants/Yalumba USA for the last 15 years. Before that, Mark was with Kendall-Jackson Winery for six years, helping establish what is currently known as Jackson Family Wines. Mark came into the industry with Schramsberg & Trefethen Vineyards as their Northern California sales manager. He spent six years in their joint sales and marketing department.
“I’m very excited to add Mark to our talented team. Mark joins our company at a time when we are seeking to position Starmont Winery independently from Merryvale Vineyards, and establishing it as a leading premium brand from Napa Valley” said Rene Schlatter CEO/President of Merryvale & Starmont.
