Schweiger Vineyards Announces New General Manager

Date: 12/18/12

Schweiger Vineyards, a small family owned and operated winery at the top of Spring Mountain in St. Helena, announced the promotion of James Eyer to General Manager. Eyer has worked at Schweiger Vineyards for five years, previously as the tasting room manager and now has the chance to continue to bring a passion for wine and business to his new role as general manager.

“We look forward to bringing James onto our executive team as the general manager. His vision, energy and knowledge of the wine industry has and will continue to be a great asset to our family winery,” said Fred Schweiger.

Eyer is a native resident of St. Helena, attending Pacific Union College where he majored in history. He is also currently enrolled in the Executive MBA program at Sonoma State University. He was hired at Schweiger Vineyards in late 2007, starting as a tasting room associate and has continued to work his way up the ranks at the winery.

"I am thrilled and honored to be working with this amazing family and historic winery. This has been a personal goal for most of my life and I am humbled to be given such a responsibility. I hope to fill the sizable foots left by our owner, Fred Schweiger."
