Bay Area startups are developing new websites and apps to help connect wine drinkers with little-known wines, and make the experience of wine drinking a bit more accessible to the average consumer on a budget.
OFFbeat Brands has launched Zin-phomaniac, a provocative Zinfandel sourced from old Zinfandel vines in Lodi. Featuring original artwork that evokes the classic "Pin-Up Girl" posters of an earlier era and bearing the tag line "When you just gotta have it," Zin-phomaniac pushes the envelope with a plush, full-bodied wine, sexy packaging and titillating back label copy.
The Liquor Control Board said to meet customer demands, 102 stores, including 24 in southwestern Pennsylvania, will open up to two hours earlier or will stay open up to two hours longer in the evenings, many Monday through Saturday.
