Geyser Peak Finds New Home In Sonoma County

Date: 01/21/14

GEYSERVILLE, CA (Jan. 21, 2014) – Accolade Wines announced today a new home for its Geyser Peak Winery and tasting room at the former Alderbrook property in Healdsburg, California. The new Geyser Peak location is near the intersection of Westside Road and Highway 101 – one of the busiest wine corridors in northern Sonoma County and within walking distance of bustling downtown Healdsburg.

The new site will initially house the Geyser Peak tasting room as well as its administrative offices. Construction and light remodeling of the tasting room will begin shortly, with a grand opening tentatively scheduled for March or April, 2014. The current Geyser Peak tasting room in Geyserville will remain open until construction and remodeling of the new facilities are completed.

"We are delighted to have found a new home for Geyser Peak that maintains its historic ties to northern Sonoma County,” noted Tim Matz, managing director for Accolade Wines North America. “With a new location secured, Geyser Peak is assured of its rightful sense of place well into the future.”

This latest development for Geyser Peak is a part of a significant evolution and revitalization under the ownership of Accolade Wines, which acquired Geyser Peak in June, 2012, and has since made a major investment in the brand – from winemaking and production to promotional and sales initiatives and more. The brand has debuted refreshed packaging graphics with a new logo and a number of new wines that showcase the winery’s exceptional vineyard resources and expertise with small-lot luxury wines. Geyser Peak has also expanded its core tier of California-appellated wines with the introduction of a California Pinot Noir last summer.

Founded in 1880 as California’s 29th bonded winery by Augustus Quitzow, one of Sonoma County’s pioneer winemakers, Geyser Peak boasts a legendary history of making ultra-premium wines. Today, under the direction of winemaker Ondine Chattan, it continues to be one of California’s most lauded wineries, consistently recognized through awards and praise for its wines.
