SONOMA, Calif. — V2 Wine Group of Sonoma, California and Bouchaine Vineyards of Napa, California announced a sales and marketing partnership between the two companies effective immediately. Under the terms of the agreement V2 Wine Group will provide sales and marketing services and manage the distribution network of all of Bouchaine Vineyard’s wines throughout the United States. Bouchaine Vineyards, owned by Gerret and Tatiana Copeland for over 30 years, is a premier producer of award-winning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Carneros district of Napa Valley.
“Bouchaine is an exceptional family winery known for its rich Pinot and Chardonnay,” said Dan Leese, president of V2 Wine Group. “We are extremely excited to partner with the Copelands, who have a great vision and passion for their winery. It is an outstanding addition to V2 Wine Group’s portfolio.”
“We are excited to be partnering with Dan Leese and the V2 Wine Group. We believe them to be the best team to showcase and emphasize the quality of Carneros wines,” said Gerret Copeland, co-owner of Bouchaine Vineyards.
“With V2 Wine Group’s sales management knowledge, the next step in our vision has begun. They understand and have the expertise this brand needs to take us into the future,” added Tatiana Copeland, co-owner of Bouchaine Vineyards.
With the addition of Bouchaine, V2 Wine Group now represents over ten premium and luxury wine brands in the North American marketplace. The company’s portfolio, which includes wines V2 Wine Group produces as well as wineries with which it has sales and marketing agreements, has grown tremendously since it was founded by Dan and Katy Leese and Pete Kight in 2011. V2 Wine Group services all classes of trade and specializes primarily in wines priced from $13 to $50 per bottle.
“Bouchaine Vineyards is a perfect fit for V2 Wine Group, the winery’s unique appellation, distinctive package and high standards in winemaking complement our growing portfolio,” said Katy Leese, general manager of V2 Wine Group. “We are excited to be partnering with another family owned winery.”
Bouchaine is truly authentic as it is the oldest continuously operating wine facility in Carneros. The winery began making wine long before the region earned its reputation for producing the great Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays of today. The roots of Bouchaine go back to before Prohibition, when it was first owned by the remarkably named Mr. Boon Fly, who grew grapes and fruit beginning in the late 1880’s. The property was bought by Johnny Garetto in 1929, and sold in 1951 to Beringer, who used it as a blending and production facility for almost 30 years. It wasn’t until Gerret and Tatiana Copeland became the sole proprietors that the winery was completely renovated and over 100 acres of estate vineyards were planted. Today, Bouchaine creates superior, award-winning wines that capture the elegance of Burgundy and the exuberance and authenticity of Carneros.
V2 is a wine producer that also provides sales and marketing services to a limited group of partner wineries. With a wine portfolio that includes Dry Creek Vineyard, La Follette Wines, Lake Sonoma Winery, Lucinda & Millie Vineyards, Quivira Vineyards, Steelhead Vineyards, Toad Hollow Vineyards, Torbreck Wines, Valley of the Moon Winery and Vindicated Wines, V2 is dedicated to building strong, innovative wine brands in the North American marketplace. Founded in 2011, the company is a partnership between wine industry veterans Dan and Katy Leese and entrepreneur Pete Kight.
