Sonoma's Ledson Hotel Celebrates 10 Years (Press Release)

Date: 07/16/13

Sonoma, CA (July 1, 2013) – Fifth generation winemaker, master craftsman and philanthropist Steve Ledson is thrilled to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the esteemed and critically acclaimed Ledson Hotel (www.ledsonhotel.com), located on Sonoma’s historic downtown plaza. Standing like the crown jewel in the center of town, the Ledson Hotel invites guests to step back in time to a grander era. Meticulously designed and built by owner Steve Ledson, the hotel is near world class shopping, spas, restaurants and rich California history. Ledson has long believed Sonoma is one of the best towns in California to visit that has kept its old historical character. In fact, the town hasn’t changed much since his grandfather used to walk the square. A visitor can find the “Bear Flag” birthplace of California and the last of the California missions of the El Camino Real while taking a stroll amongst the many restaurants and shops.

To help celebrate this anniversary, Ledson would like to invite guests to visit the Ledson Hotel and Centre du Vin Bistro during the month of August and he will donate a portion of the proceeds to local charities. Some of the things he has donated include building a barrier-free playground in Sonoma or helping families take their terminally ill children on their dream vacations. Come not only to celebrate our 10 years of business, but to celebrate the help we can give to the future of America, our children.

Built to fit into Sonoma's historic character Condé Nast Traveler noted, "From the inlaid-walnut floors to the ornate dentil molding, every painstaking detail recalls the era of Edith Wharton. Hotel owner Steve Ledson, known locally for the lavish 16,000 square foot Gothic Castle he designed and built for his winery's headquarters, cut no corners in this six-room inn."

"Building the hotel was a labor of love," commented Ledson. “I am so glad to see that the hotel has contributed so much to the local flavor of the SonomaPlaza as well as attracted visitors from around the world. The hotel has become one of the 'must do' overnights for visitors to Sonoma Valley.” noted Ledson.

The hotel’s Centre du Vin offers French bistro fare with a seasonal menu focused on dishes created from a variety of locally grown and produced specialties. Sidewalk seating allows dining al fresco with a full view of the bustling Sonoma Plaza.

Guests can enjoy a full bar and a selection of Ledson and Zina Hyde Cunningham wines as well as other selections from local Sonoma Valley wineries.

The Centre du Vin has also been host to an eclectic list of musical acts such as Jeff Bridges, Jefferson Starship, Jonathan Poretz and Luna Itzel.

The Ledson Hotel and Centre Du Vin are located at 480 First St. East, Sonoma. The hotel made the Conde Nast Traveler 2004 Hot List: One of the 100 hottest new hotels around the globe, one of the top 18 hotels in the US, and one of the only 2 hotels in California. New York Times, August, 2010 opined, “If you have only 36 hours to spend in Sonoma County you might follow these suggestions and stay at the Ledson Hotel….”
