Hoffman Family Cellars announced an innovative 3-liter exchange program at their tasting rooms on the Historic Sonoma Plaza and on Treasure Island in San Francisco.
Owner/winemaker Paul J. Hoffman said, "I have always been inspired to create a value driven, eco-friendly exchange program that resembles what I have seen being done in Italy and what the beer industry has done for years with the growler concept. We want to make the process as easy as it is to exchange your propane tank in addition to passing along a 15 to 25 percent savings while providing variety of specialty white and red lots from the cellar. We see this program as an option for sharing some great wine with friends and family while being green and saving some money. ”
The first offering will fall under the Headbanger Brand with wines entitled "Rock n White" and "Rock n Red." Both 3-liter packages are silkscreened with glow-in-the-dark ink. “The specific blends will vary with the consumer receiving a detailed tasting note on the lot at the time of purchase or exchange. We will even have wine club and other events where consumers can choose right from the barrel and fill their bottle,” says Hoffman.
A portion of sales proceeds will be donated to The American Cancer Society in memory of Hoffman’s late mother and father. The program will be extended to distributor and account partners in the near future.
Hoffman Family Cellars owns and makes four wine brands (Headbanger, 401K, Curveball, Atmosphere) and has two tasting rooms, one on The Historic Sonoma Square and the other on Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay.
