Rosé by the Bay Celebration Docks at Butterfly Restaurant on Tuesday, April 23

Date: 02/26/13

The Rosé Consortia announced that it has taken over the duties of Rosé Avengers & Producers (RAP). Creative Furnace, the former management firm for RAP, sees this move as the next logistical step in bringing together those who are passionate about great rosé -- and who want to share it with the world. The Rosé Consortia is replacing Pink Out! SF with Rosé by the Bay and moving the annual event earlier in the year to Tuesday, April 23. Hosted by Chef Rob Lam of Butterfly restaurant, the Rosé by the Bay media and trade tasting will take place from 3:00pm to 6:00 p.m., while the consumer tasting is from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Winery registration, and trade and media registration, are now open for the celebration. Consumer tickets are $45 each in advance, $55 at the door (if available) and go on sale March 1.

"The renaissance of rosé has truly matured over the past decade," says Consortia co-founder, Joel Quigley of Creative Furnace. "After eight years of avenging the wrongs done to dry rosé, we felt that RAP, along with a cadre of other champions, achieved this goal. We see The Rosé Consortia as a way to update our vision as we continue to evangelize and educate. Initially, we aren't going to rock the boat too much, however, we're excited to see where the next decade takes us as we get feedback from our members and fans."

Rosé by the Bay's extensive walk-around tasting will feature 40+ classic still and sparkling dry rosés from throughout the world and Chef Rob Lam's brilliantly presented, rosé-inspired Pan-Pacific bites created from the freshest, sustainable and organic ingredients. To celebrate the launch of the 2013 season of rosé and the America's Cup challenge in San Francisco, all participants will be encouraged to sport their best, coolest, or most extravagant nautical wear.

The Rosé Consortia Winery Membership is offered as an a la carte menu and has several options, including online directory listings and participation in The Rosé Consortia's signature event, Rosé by the Bay. Affiliate Membership is complimentary for trade, media and consumers. Complete details on the event and membership are available at www.TheRoséConsortia.com.
