Nantucket, MA (December 18, 2013)- The 17th annual Nantucket Wine Festival will take place May 15-19, 2013. With more than 50 events over five days, the Nantucket Wine Festival attracts an elite group of leading winemakers from around the world, renowned chefs, and wine and food enthusiasts from all over the country. This boutique event has become one of the most celebrated wine gatherings in the world.
On Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 the Nantucket Wine Festival will release for sale tickets for a number of new events including wine tastings, wine dinners, and seminars featuring exquisite wines and food.
New this year, the Nantucket Wine Festival introduces their signature event, La Fête. Similar in style to La Paulée, the Burgundian celebration, the NWF version will include wines from several wine regions, provided by attendees, and sourced from their private cellars. Ten tables of ten will be curated based on the wines submitted. A winemaker will be seated at each table, serviced by a dedicated sommelier. This interactive four-course dinner will showcase four guest chefs, including Max McCalman of Artisanal Premium Cheese, New York, presenting the cheese course.
Under the title Great Wines in Grand Houses, the festival will once again host wine dinners and wine tastings in elegant private homes around the island. Each wine dinner features a winemaker presenting wines, a chef presenting each of the courses, and perfect pairings explained by the experts. Wine dinners for the 2013 festival include Robert Sinskey Vineyards with Chef Barbara Lynch of No 9 Park, Elvio Cogno with Chef Dante de Magistris of dante, Waters Winery with Chef Lydia Shire of Scampo, Cos d’Estournel with Chef Christopher Coombs of Deuxave, Chateau Angelus with Chef Robert Sisca of Bistro du Midi, Domaine Bertrand Ambroise with Chef Rich Garcia of Boston Renaissance Hotel, Penner-Ash Wine Cellars with Chef William Kovel of Catalyst and Vega Sicilia with Chef Will Gilson of Puritan & Co.
