Manteca plant to add jobs with new deal
Ecologic Brand Inc. expects to quickly add a second work shift to its paper-bottle manufacturing operation in Manteca and further expand to a third by year's end as a result of a new contract to supply containers for the Paper Boy brand of wines. Officials of the Oakland-based container company said Friday that the deal means additional jobs at their 60,000-square-foot Manteca plant but are not yet sure how many openings will result.

Dennis Carroll to Speak at Sonoma State's Annual Spring Mixer on April 17
This year the keynote speaker for the Spring Mixer will be Dennis Carroll. Carroll designed and developed the successful brand portfolio for Purple Wine Company and also built Sonoma Wine Company from a single facility to the full wine contract service business it is today.

Sonoma Co. business activity beats U.S. average
Sonoma County's purchasing trends index was 68.65 - a number above 50 indicates growth - beating a national average of 53.2, according to the winter Business Confidence Survey and Report released Monday by the Economic Development Board. It marks the third year that Sonoma County has beat the national average since 2007.
