Late last year, we noted here that Red Blotch had been identified as a new vineyard issue and that growers were encouraged to report symptoms. It's a hot topic. It's a big problem. But there's been some good initial progress. Scientists from Cornell and UC Davis recently reported the discovery of a new grapevine virus they beleive to be responsible. The virus was recently renamed, "grapevine red blotch associated virus (GRBaV)" Stay tuned for a report in the February 2013 Wine Business Monthly.
