Job Summary:
Reporting to the VP of Sales, Marketing & DTC, the Director of PR and Marketing leads public relations, communications, brand storytelling, and consumer marketing for Cakebread Cellars and Bezel Wines. This role is responsible for building and protecting brand reputation through earned media, public relations, influencer partnerships, thought leadership, accolades, and industry engagement. In addition, the role leads innovative direct-to-consumer marketing initiatives that deepen consumer connection, drive engagement, and create memorable brand experiences across direct-to-consumer and digital channels. The ideal candidate is an exceptional storyteller and relationship builder who thrives in an entrepreneurial, family-owned environment and brings both strategic vision and creative execution to elevate iconic luxury wine brands.

What we will ask you to do:
•  Develop and lead the public relations strategy for Cakebread Cellars and Bezel Wines, with a focus on elevating brand perception, expanding awareness, supporting business priorities, and strengthening credibility with consumer, trade, business, lifestyle, travel, food, wine, and luxury media.
•  Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, influencers, tastemakers, and industry stakeholders; identify compelling stories and timely opportunities to secure meaningful media coverage and position company leaders and winemaking voices as trusted representatives of the brands.
•  Serve as the steward of brand storytelling, ensuring communications reflect the heritage, values, people, wines, and experiences that distinguish Cakebread Cellars and Bezel in a competitive luxury marketplace.
•  Lead the development of innovative consumer marketing programs that drive acquisition, engagement, loyalty, and advocacy across all direct-to-consumer channels.
•  Own the editorial calendar, ensuring campaigns, events, email, social media, website, and sales materials are aligned with business priorities.
•  Partner with Hospitality, DTC, Ecommerce, Events, and Wine Club teams to create compelling consumer experiences and marketing initiatives that strengthen relationships, drive visitation, increase retention, and grow long-term customer value.
•  Partner with the VP Sales, Marketing & DTC and Kobrand to ensure brand marketing and communications strategies support annual and long-term wholesale priorities, market visibility, distributor engagement, and account activation.
•  Partner with DTC, Hospitality, Ecommerce, Events, and Wine Club teams to ensure marketing programs support revenue goals, conversion, retention, consumer acquisition, tourism, and guest engagement.

Physical Requirements:
•  Ability to work in standing position for extended periods of time.
•  Ability to stoop, lift and carry 40 lb. cases of wine.
•  Ability to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, kneel; talk or hear; taste or smell. Sufficient digital manipulation skills to utilize a computer keyboard.

What you should bring to the table:
•  7-10 years of hands-on experience in public relations, communications, brand storytelling, consumer marketing, or related functions, preferably with wine, luxury consumer goods, hospitality, travel, food, lifestyle, or premium brands.
•  Proven track record securing earned media coverage, managing media and influencer relationships, and translating brand stories into awareness and engagement.
•  Demonstrated success developing consumer-focused marketing programs across digital, hospitality, ecommerce, email, events, and social media.
•  Strong understanding of luxury consumer behavior, hospitality-driven brands, direct-to-consumer business models, and experiential marketing.
•  Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to balance brand building with business objectives.
•  Strong business acumen with the ability to connect communications and marketing initiatives to revenue, awareness, engagement, and consumer acquisition.

Pay Transparency Notice: The salary range offered for this position is $125,000.00-$140,000.00. This salary range represents what we anticipate to pay for this position. However, actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to qualifications, skills, experience, and education.
