Tasting Room and Hospitality Lead

Job Description:

We are looking for a new team member to join our crew ! We have an opening for a Tasting Room & Hospitality staff position at our highly acclaimed winery located at the northern end of the Napa Valley. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team. The right candidate will be someone as passionate about wine and hospitality as we are, and with the energy and motivation to lead our team in selling and sharing the Napa Valley experience with our guests.

The position reports to the DTC & Hospitality Manager. In general the primary responsibilities are hosting wine tastings, sharing wine education, hospitality and assisting in the tasting room with cash handling, and maintaining club and customer information. Wine Educator and Hospitality staff members must be able to provide consumers with a unique, meaningful, and memorable experience that they will want to share with friends and family. All efforts should be focused on attaining weekly and monthly wine and club sales goals while providing world class hospitality to all visitors to the tasting room. Wine Educator and Hospitality staff members must have passion for obtaining knowledge of fine wine and an interest in sharing that knowledge and passion with guests. Sales, hospitality, inventory, cash handling experience as well as a welcoming and friendly personality are required for success in this position. Weekend and holiday availability are a mandatory.

Daily Responsibilities:

*Greets all visitors to the Tasting Room, pours wines for tasting, discusses wine and responds to customer questions as appropriate.
*Ensures that every visitor enjoys their wine tasting experience and leaves with a very high impression of our wine, process, and winery team.
*Is passionate about seeking wine knowledge and can accurately describes wines, winemaking techniques, winery history, appellations, and unique aspects of wines.
*Effectively promotes and sells wine and Wine Club memberships to customers.
*Facilitates guided tours
*Willingness to set up referral tastings for partner wineries, and to promote the winery through hospitality outreach.
*Ability to train and host private blendings for groups
*Handles routine POS transactions, including operating cash register, accounting of daily sales, and processing returns and discounts and shipping orders.
*Skillfully facilitates concierge service to longtime members and visiting guests by booking reservations at specified partners based specifically on customer needs and interest.
*Unpack, stock and move wine
*Maintain clean and organized tasting room and area open to the public
*Participates and assists with special hospitality events
*Wash and polishes glassware for Tasting Room
*Assists with display and pricing of retail items and wines as needed
*Represents winery at outside functions as required
*Maintain accurate customer contact information
*Follow all company policies and safety standards
*Maintain and wear dress code in a professional manner as required
*Presents a positive outlook when faced with challenges or change
*Work & communicate positively & respectfully as a team with all members of the winery
*Other duties as assigned


Physical Requirements:

*Ability to lift and move 50 pounds repeatedly.
*Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Must be 21 years of age or older
