Job Description:

Judd’s Hill is looking for a dynamic person to join our cellar team!

We are a family owned winery located at the base of the Silverado Trail, just north of downtown Napa. We have been making wine in the Napa Valley for over 30 years, with a unique spin. In addition to ensuring Judd’s Hill wines are well cared for, this position will be supporting our MicroCrush vintners, who make from one barrel to ten barrels of wine each. There are a lot of moving parts, so attention to detail and a “can do” attitude are critical!

You will be exposed to some incredible small lots of wine, but this means you have at least five years’ experience to bring to the table, along with forklift certification and experience stacking barrels/bins. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who is highly motivated, adaptable to changes and a quick pace, and who is able to work well on their own but also as a part of our small but mighty team. A clean, well run winery means quality wines, so expect to do the usual tasks: grape sampling, punchdowns, destemmer operations, barrel work, racking, topping, sur lies stirring, bottling, winery maintenance, and cleaning and sanitizing. We work hard, so you must be able to to lift 50+ Lbs, pull, push, dig, climb ladders or stairs, stand for long periods, and work outside in all weather conditions. We often have visitors to the winery, which is a small, shared space. There may be the occasional interaction with MicroCrush vintners or winery guests.

•  Harvest activity including punch-downs, grape sampling, shuttling of bins.
•  Bottling line set up, operation and maintenance.
•  Identify issues and present solutions as they arise
•  Work with a focus on safety.

Minimum Qualifications:
•  Able to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
•  Effective communication skills. Able to read/write and speak English fluently.
•  Able to work hard and independently with a minimum of supervision.
•  Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and stand for 8+ hours.
•  Willingness to perform a variety of tasks
•  Must have a valid driver’s license with clean record.
•  Must enjoy working in a small team and a family environment.
•  Must provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination prior to first interview.
