Innerstave launches innovative oak delivery method for half-ton bin fermentation.

Posted on January 11, 2012

Innerstave, the innovator of oak infusion products for the wine industry, is yet again providing winemakers a revolutionary new product for conducting wine fermentation. Our newest product the Binsert™ is an oak fermenting system for the use in ½ ton bins.

The Binsert™ is a lightweight stainless steel fixture that holds 20 Innerstave French or American oak stub staves in an ordinary ½ ton plastic bin. This provides the equivalent extraction of 2.5 barrels of new oak impact. The Binsert™ offers winemakers the convenience to easily add the grapes to the oak and punch down the must. When done fermenting remove the Binsert™, disassemble and clean the stainless steel fixture for its next use.

The Binsert™ is innovatively packaged so it can be delivered via ordinary ground transportation, it is easy to assemble and simple to use. Binsert’s™ unique design, construction and usage has a US Patent Pending and is the only one of its kind. Truly Innovative!

“Innerstave was the innovator of new barrel alternatives/oak infusion systems and we are pleased to bring this new product to market which continues our tradition of assisting winemakers in reaching their goals in non-traditional methods,” says Alicia McBride, General Manager.

Since 1979 winemakers have used Innerstave products to expand their flavor profiles and reduce new barrel cooperage expenses by taking wood to wine rather than the wine to wood.
