Wine Direct to Trade launches "ClubBTG" - A First for the California Trade

Wine Direct to Trade (WDT), creators of sales and marketing innovations for small wineries, announces the March 2013 launch of ClubBTG (By the Glass).

ClubBTG offers weekly, By the Glass “sales events” where the California Trade will be able to purchase By the Glass selections direct from the winery. Each weekly sale will last 4 days, the artisan wines will have limited availability and the wholesale pricing will be aggressive. Adding a new page to the history of California wholesale wine sales, ClubBTG brings a unique opportunity for the Trade to purchase BTG pours, winery direct and at wholesale prices.

ClubBTG benefits wineries, the Trade and wine lovers. Wineries gain cost effective exposure for their brand without the risk of damaging established retail price points, plus many successful BTG pours transition to the bottle wine list; the Trade has easy access to boutique winery direct selections at wholesale prices; wine lovers are able to explore and enjoy small producer wines that in the past were not available BTG.

ClubBTG offers several different wines at various price points. The selections will change weekly and will occasionally include specialty selections, seasonal wines, “super-luxury” brands and import listings. All orders will be shipped and invoiced by the participating wineries within 24 hours of the order being placed on the WDT web site.

Launched in August 2012, Wine Direct to Trade is the web based service where small California wineries list and sell their wines direct to the California trade at wholesale prices. Wine Direct to Trade’s ClubBTG is yet another WDT sales and marketing innovation to help small wine producers grow their business by providing them with access to all available sales channels.

Co-Founder Karen Barnes has been working in the wine industry in Napa Valley for more than 15 years, focusing on direct to consumer sales and management. She began Wine Direct Marketing Services in 2002, managing wine clubs, allocation release programs, online marketing and eCommerce solutions to support small and virtual wineries increase and expand their direct to consumer business.

Co-Founder Steve Winter has 30 years of experience in sales and sales management for major California wine distributors and wineries.
