Champagne AR Lenoble Appoints Massanois Imports as Exclusive Distributor for New York, New Jersey & Illinois

Posted on February 08, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - February 11, 2019 -- Effective immediately, Champagne AR Lenoble is pleased to appoint Massanois Imports as exclusive distributor for New York, New Jersey and Illinois.

Founded in 1920, AR Lenoble is one of the very rare producers in Champagne to be consistently family- owned and consistently independent throughout its entire history of nearly 100 years. Owners Anne and Antoine Malassagne are the great-grandchildren of founder Armand-Raphae?l Graser and the fourth generation of the family to manage the estate. AR Lenoble believes in privileging the characteristic expression of fruit from their own 18 hectares of estate-owned vineyards, all of which were certified Haute Valeur Environnementale in 2012, the majority of which are found in the Grand Cru village of Chouilly on Champagne’s legendary Co?te des Blancs.

A complex system of conservation of reserve wines is one of the hallmarks of AR Lenoble. Established along the lines of the solera or “perpetual blending” system, their reserve wines have been conserved in both small Burgundy barrels of 225 litres and 5000-litre foudres since 2001. Since 2010, they have also kept a tremendous amount of reserve wines ageing in magnums under natural cork in order to preserve freshness, a major challenge moving forward for the Champagne region in the face of climate change.

Massanois is a New York City based national importer and direct distributor, curating and representing a portfolio of quality-driven family owned wineries. Massanois works directly as both importer and distributor in New York, New Jersey, California, Washington DC and Virginia, and works in another 35 States with a network of like-minded, independent, quality distributors throughout the USA.
