Tasting Room/Hospitality Manager

Job Description:

We are currently hiring for the full-time position of
Tasting Room/Hospitality Manager who will report to winery owners.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing a team focused on offering memorable customer service experiences and have a proven track record of achieving results.

This team member will be responsible for all aspects of the tasting room experience and for driving revenue through wine club memberships, local partnerships and sales and marketing objectives, as well as:

•  Providing an exemplary tasting room guest experience including hosting wine tastings, conducting educational tours, sharing knowledge regarding our story, philosophy,
wines and vineyards
•  Able to manage and lead a small, committed team of full and part time tasting room staff, their duties and productiveness, as well as providing leadership and coaching
throughout the year
•  Responsible for all relevant ordering, inventory control and printed materials related to the retail/tasting room
•  Direct and manage the day to day retail operations, customer service, cash reconciliation, wine inventory, staff scheduling, tours, and overall guest experience
•  Work closely with key staff on event planning and execution
•  Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation of the tasting room and its team
•  Respond to email correspondence, including sponsorship requests, and other general inquiries
•  Handling all customer concerns professionally and proactively
•  Represent winery at off-site events, tastings and venues as required
•  Comply with all health and safety regulations with assistance of owners
•  Develop and maintain positive relationships with community partners to drive traffic to the tasting room
•  Manage wine and barrel club (logistics, planning, and customer relations) as well as direct to consumer sales
•  Overseeing additional sales channels including Farmers’ Markets, seasonal shows and sales opportunities

Application qualifications include:
•  Professional warm and welcoming personal presentation
•  Flexible and able to manage constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
•  Three or more years’ experience in retail or hospitality management with a proven ability to be an effective, innovative and enthusiastic leader
•  Post-secondary education with sales or marketing experience would be preferred
•  Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with clarity and consistency
•  Dynamic, outgoing and motivated with the capabilities to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
•  Strong organization skills, project and time management skills and attention to detail.
•  Proficient in Microsoft office software with concise verbal and written communication skills
•  Experience working within the wine industry considered an asset
•  Knowledge and use of social media platforms
•  Basic Food Safety, First Aid, and Serve Right certification are considered an asset
•  Must be available to work evenings, and weekends, and holidays as required
•  Able to stand for long periods, and lifting up to 40lbs
