We are looking for a highly detail-oriented cellar hand to assist with all our winemaking and vineyard operations.. The candidate will be a highly motivated, self-driven employee with a keen eye on detail interested in learning all aspects of the winemaking industry. You should be able to work rotating shifts, OT, and weekends, particularly during harvest.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Clean, sanitize and sterilize equipment, tanks and barrels
-Carry out wine movements, barrel work
-Add chemicals to wine as required (inoculations and additions)
-Operate cellar equipment including pumps, barrel filler, heat exchanger, plate and frame filters, and crush equipment (presses, crusher-de-stemmers, auger systems), forklifts, etc.
-Apply good housekeeping practices and follow all safe cellar practices
- vineyard monitoring to ensure no disease and work is being done to our standards
- pruning, shoot thinning, picking (all variety of hand work)
