Union Wine Company hires Greg Bauer as winemaker.

Union Wine Company, the owner of Kings Ridge Wines and Underwood Cellars, has hired Greg Bauer as winemaker. Bauer’s primary focus is oversight of day-to-day production at the company’s new 700-ton winemaking facility in Tualatin, Ore. Bauer will also work closely with Union Wine Company’s custom crush clients to ensure their winemaking needs are met.

Most recently Bauer was assistant winemaker for A to Z Wineworks/Rex Hill Vineyards, one of the OregonWillametteValley’s largest and most prominent wine producers. Prior to joining A to Z/Rex Hill, Bauer spent time as part of the winemaking teams at Torii Mor Winery in the WillametteValley and at Wind River Cellars in WashingtonState.

Bauer will report to Union Wine Company co-owner and executive wine maker, Ryan Harms. “We are excited about our new winemaking facility and are confident that under Greg’s leadership our brands and those of our custom crush clients will achieve great success,” said Harms.

A native of Seattle, Washington, Bauer currently resides in Portland, Ore., with his wife. When he’s not making wine, he spends time pursuing his love of food, guitars and golf.
