Quintessential Hires Seasoned Wine Sales Executive In Newly-Created Position
Napa, Calif.—As part of Quintessential’s continuing investment to evolve its structure and resources in an effort to successfully market and sell the wines of a growing roster of producers, the fine wine family owned-and-operated company has brought onboard Dewey McBride in the newly-created role of Director of California Retail Chains.
In this position, Dewey will be working with the management of all key retail chains based in California, to secure and maintain placements of top-quality wines made by the family owned-and-operated producers in the Quintessential portfolio, covering most of the best-known wine regions in California and around the world.
The native Northern Californian has fifteen years’ experience in the wine and spirits industry, as National Chain Account Manager for a major importer, National Director of Sales for a well-known California winery and, at the start of his career, handling sales to major off-premise California-based chains for one of the largest wine and spirits distributors in the country.
Dewey studied wine sales and marketing at Napa College and has received both the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 Intermediate Certificate, and the Court of Master Sommeliers Level 1 Certificate.
Married with two children and living in Fairfield, CA, Dewey reports directly to Dennis Kreps, co-owner of Quintessential with his father, Stephen D. Kreps.
According to Dennis, “As we continue to expand our portfolio to include more US and International family-owned wineries, we need professionals like Dewey, with established contacts and significant experience, to help us continue to succeed in the highly-competitive retail chains environment, especially here in California. We believe he can bring more of the wines in our portfolio to more chain shelves for consumers to discover and enjoy.”
