Quintessential Announces New Sales Managers and Sales Representatives

Posted on February 13, 2020

Napa, Calif.—Fine wine import, marketing and sales company, Quintessential, has increased its sales power around the country with a new manager for the company’s Desert Region, a promotion to head up the Northern California salesforce, and a new team member to handle CA’s North Bay territory.

In the Southwest, Quintessential has brought onboard Carmen Waggoner as Regional Sales Manager for Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and Hawaii.   She is responsible for all sales and promotional activities in these states, overseeing Quintessential’s efforts with distributors, wine and spirits retailers and all on-premise accounts.

Born and raised in North Hollywood, CA, Carmen has spent nearly 15 years on all sides of the beverage alcohol business – working in the restaurant/bar business before transitioning to sales with import companies and wineries.

She holds an MBA from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, has five children and currently resides in the Phoenix area.   Carmen reports directly to Quintessential’s Southwest Division Sales Manager, Ned Thorn.

To head the Northern CA sales team, the company has tapped Tina Holden, a 20 year veteran in wine and beer sales who was handling North Bay area sales for Quintessential during the past year.  In her new position, Tina will be responsible for her six-person team’s activities, overseeing Northern California sales programming, making sure that sales targets and goals are met, and helping the salespeople in her territories to increase accounts and sales.

Tina is a California native who spent many years in the Pacific Northwest, working eight years as District Sales Manager for a large wine distributor in Washington State, and then four years as a Divisional Sales Manager for a craft beer supplier.  With partners, she owned a restaurant and retail wine/beer specialty store in the Seattle suburbs, returning to Northern California nearly three years ago, due to family obligations.

Tina attended College of the Sequoias, holds a Level 2 Certificate from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET), has taken courses with the Court of Master Sommeliers, National Association of Sales Professionals and the Napa Valley Wine Academy.  She reports directly to Steve Kreps, Jr., who heads Quintessential’s California Distributing Company.

Taking Tina’s place in Quintessential’s North Bay territory is Peggy Davis, who has over 30 years’ experience in wine sales and education with a major distributor.

Born in San Francisco, CA, and raised in the Bay Area, Peggy attended Santa Rosa Junior College.  She holds a Level 2 WSET Certificate and a Level 1 Court of Master Sommeliers Certificate.  Peggy is married with 5 children, living in the Santa Rosa area.

Working with all levels of the distribution chain in the North Bay, including sell-in to off-  and on-premise trade, and sell-through to consumers, Peggy reports directly to Tina.

“Carmen and Tina come to us with a great deal of prior sales management experience that enables them to ‘hit the ground running,” explains Dennis Kreps, who owns Quintessential with his father, Stephen D. Kreps.   “Along with capable, infinitely qualified salespeople like

Peggy, we’re sure they all will quickly register sales gains in their respective parts of the country and be great assets in our commitment to the continually-growing roster of family owned-and-operated wineries who have put their faith in our expertise and abilities to sell their wines.”
