Broadbent Selections Announces Two New Executive Leaders

Richmond, VA—Broadbent Selections Inc., a leading importer of fine wines, has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer and a new Chief Marketing Officer.

Broadbent Selections has hired Fred Reno as its Chief Operating Officer. Reno is a wine business executive with forty years of experience in the wine industry, most recently as the Founder of Thomas Jefferson Wine Company. Reno began his career in Washington, DC retail in 1979. He went on to be instrumental in building two fine wine brands, William Hill Winery in 1984 and Sonoma-Cutrer in 1988 which became the number one requested Chardonnay in top American restaurants. In 1995, Reno took control of the Henry Wine Group and established it as the leading independent fine wine distribution company in the country. In 2008, the Henry Wine Group was voted “Best Wine Wholesaler in America” by Meininger. In 2009 Reno was recruited by Jess Jackson and became Director of the West Burgundy Wine Group, a division of Jackson Family Wines, which he created prior to his departure in 2015. “Fred brings a proven track record of growing businesses and building brands and he will bring another level of experience to the already dynamic team at Broadbent Selections” said founder and CEO Bartholomew Broadbent.

Catherine Miles, the former Senior Vice President/Director of Marketing, has been promoted to Chief Marketing Officer. Miles joined the company as its New York Regional Sales Manager in 2001. Prior to joining Broadbent Selections, she was one of Broadbent’s first supporters while General Manager and Wine Director at the James Beard Award-winning City Grocery restaurant in Oxford, Mississippi. “Cat’s strong leadership and her innovative marketing strategies have grown the reputation and image of the company on every level,” said founder and CEO Bartholomew Broadbent, “The strength of Broadbent Selections can largely be attributed to Cat's role.” Miles was recently named one of the three most admired women in the wine importing business, along with Martine Saunier and Becky Wasserman in www.wonderwomenofwine.com.
