ABOUT HOPE FAMILY WINES
Rooted in a vision to grow grapes and promote Paso Robles as a premium Cabernet producing region, Hope Family Wines crafts a variety of offerings that reflect the unique terrain and truest expression of the exceptional environmental assets of Paso Robles. It is the producer of Austin Hope, Quest, Treana, Liberty School and Troublemaker wines.
The Hope family arrived in Paso Robles in 1978, embarking on a new adventure in the early days of the California wine industry. Chuck Hope pursued his dream of making Paso Robles a world-class wine region by planting grape vines and becoming one of the region’s largest growers of Cabernet Sauvignon by the late 1980s. He also worked to put Paso on the California wine region map – literally – playing a key role in the establishment of the Paso Robles AVA in 1983.
Chuck’s son Austin followed in his father’s footsteps, pursuing a life in the wine industry and leading the family’s transition from growing grapes to making wine. The Hopes initially produced Liberty School and Treana from their winery in Paso Robles and have created new offerings over the years – many of which have received 90+ scores from such publications as Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. For the Hope family, what is most gratifying is continuing to work toward their vision – to make wines that reflect all that Paso has to offer and inspire people to be as passionate about the region as they are.
