Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard General Manager, Leah Schlechter, is delighted to announce the expansion of the wine and culinary offerings with the promotion of Chef Chase Williams to Director of Culinary & Consumer Experiences.

“With Chase's expanded focus, we are able to provide more opportunities for our guests to discover all that the Black Walnut has to offer.” says General Manager, Leah Schlechter. “I'm thrilled that we are building new programs that showcase the beauty of our property and talent of our team.”

About Chef Chase Williams:

After graduating the Texas Culinary Academy in 2009, Chef Chase worked for prestigious restaurants of the region, including Mansions on Turtle Creek, Charlie Palmers at the Joule Hotel in the Dallas and Austin areas under chefs Charlie Palmer & Bruno Davaillon. In 2014, Chase moved to Oregon and joined The Painted Lady as chef de cuisine, the year the restaurant received its James Beard award nomination. He has since worked at Soter Winery and with Chef Bernard Malherbe at Crooked House bistro before accepting the position of Lead Chef at the Black Walnut in 2017.

As Director of Culinary & Consumer Experiences, Chef Chase will continue to lead the culinary team at the luxury Inn with their daily food service and special events. In his new, expanded role, he will be overseeing the development and execution of new consumer experiences including appointment-only Vineyard Tours and Wine Tastings. There will be ongoing development of the wine program at the Inn, focusing on both local and international wines, with foods paired to enhance the tasting experience.
