Master of Wine Candidate Will Lead New Marketing Department for VSPT Wine Group to Train and Educate About Wine
Laura Ballotta takes over the new Wine Marketing department for VSPT Wine Group, aiming to provide internal education about wine for representatives of the different wineries that comprise the group.
The professional, who over the past four years worked as Brand Owner for Viña Leyda, is one of four professionals in Chile currently taking part in a program given by the Institute of Masters of Wine. The aim of the program is to obtain the Master of Wine (MW) certification: an acronym which denotes the world’s highest standard of wine knowledge.
On top of heading the VSPT Wine School, Laura Ballotta will carry out tastings, talks and training sessions to help respective importers and distributers convey the quality of the wines as well as technical information about VSPT Wine Group’s main brands.
The Social Communicator from the Universidad Austral de Buenos Aires, Argentina, began her career as a journalist, and later on as chief editor of the magazine Master Wine. She then moved to Mexico to head the magazine El Conocedor. In 2009, she studied the Wine MBA course in Bordeaux, France, given by the Bordeaux École de Management, in collaboration with the University of South Australia and Wine Intelligence UK. This provided her with the tools to begin her first business exporting Argentine wine to Mexico.
Afterwards, she moved to Chile to join the export team at VSPT Wine Group. As well as her recent experience at Leyda, she has worked as Global Brand Manager for Misiones de Rengo and Grandes Vinos de San Pedro.
