Scott Neal Reappointed McMinnville American Viticultural Area President

Scott Neal, winemaker and owner of Coeur de Terre Vineyard, has been reappointed as the McMinnville American Viticultural Area president. The McMinnville AVA located just to the west of the town of McMinnville consists of wineries which have tasting rooms open year round: Coeur de Terre Vineyard, J. Wrigley Vineyard, Maysara Winery, Yamhill Valley Vineyards and Youngberg Hill Vineyards & Inn. Other members include: Brittan Vineyards with a tasting room in the city of McMinnville, Hyland Estates with a tasting room in Dundee, NW Wine Company along with Bellevue Cross Vineyard, Hyland Vineyards, Meredith Mitchell Vineyard which is managed by Winderlea Vineyard and Winery and Momtazi Vineyard.

Scott will be focusing on partnering with the members to market the AVA, sharing the unique qualities of this area with wine enthusiasts. Plans include the rolling out a new McMinnville AVA website, joint marketing with member wineries and the start of a strong collaboration with Visit McMinnville. There will be a focus on what makes the McMinnville AVA a world class wine producing area, including the geology/terroir, the wineries and the winemakers.

Founded in 1998 by Scott and Lisa Neal, Coeur de Terre vineyard specializes in producing estate grown Pinot Noir from their vineyard located in the McMinnville AVA. They do it all, they live on the estate, planted the vineyard, farm the land and make the wine so they can be enjoyed as a true expression of their work.
