Eugene Engel Joins Blends as New Jersey State Sales Manager

Blends Wine Estates announced the appointment of internationally-acclaimed sommelier Eugene Engel as the new sales manager for New Jersey. In this new role, Engel will initially focus exclusively on sales efforts for Renwood Winery and answer directly to East Coast sales director, Gary Hill.

Engel is an international sommelier with an extensive wine education background that includes accreditation from the Coteaux de Champagne Chevalier, Italian Sommelier Association, German Wine Academy, National de Vins de France and the Caterina de Medici Gastronomic Society. He has more than 30 years of fine wine experience working with retail, distributor, and import operations. During his extensive career he has traveled and studied wine in many of the world’s most prestigious wine regions. Additionally, he has spent many years developing relationships in the New Jersey market and has garnered a reputation as being a dedicated and tireless partner to his accounts.

Michael Bartlett, EVP sales of Blends, stated that “there is enormous potential in New Jersey. With the vibrant restaurant scene and ample retailers, we are glad to have a dedicated resource in Engel to ensure future success for our wine portfolio.”
