CAVE adds Linda Brauns to Board
With the new year, the Colorado Association for Viticulture and Enology (CAVE) announces three new elected board members that will help oversee the nonprofit organization that supports the Colorado wine industry.
In December, CAVE’s membership elected Linda Brauns (Palisade vineyard owner), Jay Christianson (Canyon Wind Cellars) and Doug Caskey (Colorado Wine Industry Development Board executive director) to three-year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2013.
Brauns has more than 20 years of experience in finance and strategic planning, most recently as a vice president at Starz Entertainment. She and her husband just recently purchased a vineyard on East Orchard Mesa in Palisade.
The new members join the board that consists of Tom Bueb (Turquoise Mesa Winery), Jennifer Christianson (Canyon Wind Cellars), Guy Drew (Guy Drew Vineyards), Naomi Smith (Grande River Vineyards), Bruce Talbott (Talbott’s Mountain Gold) and Brooke Webb (Mesa Park Vineyards).
The Colorado Association for Viticulture and Enology (CAVE) is a member-based association that exists to encourage and support enology and viticulture in Colorado. CAVE promotes the interests of Colorado grape growers and wineries in legislative and political matters, provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, and disseminates current information pertaining to optimum winemaking and agriculture practices for vineyards in the area. CAVE seeks to establish contacts and relationships with other associations, both regional and statewide, to further development and growth of the industry.
