The visit to Chappellet Winery near St. Helena was part of the secretary's fact-finding tour to the West Coast. Vilsack asked Chappellet about fire insurance, which prompted laughter. Chappellet said in 2017, the winery paid $250,000 a year to be insured for $80 million. The company now pays $1.1 million for $25 million coverage. "So, it's not sustainable," Chappellet said.
