Insurance companies in 2020 paid $227 million in indemnities to California growers for fire-related crop losses, according to USDA. Napa County growers received $91.8 million in indemnities growers while Sonoma County growers were paid $80.2 million. California's total liabilities for winegrapes is $1.74 billion in 2021-or $266 million more than in 2020, according to the RMA.
