An Oregon investor partnership, Casparian Partners formed by Ian Lombard and Colin Rowanis, is acquiring NW Wine Co, including 700 acres of vineyards and the Hyland Estates brand. Much of the winery's 300,000 annual cases of sales are control or private labels. ... . Key to the deal, closing today, was backing from Lone Rock Resources, a timber company now diversifying. The holding company intends to continue to acquire assets in the wine space. "Our goal in the short term is to have 1,000 acres of producing vineyards, which translates into maybe 500,000 cases," NW Wine Co founder/CEO Laurent Montalieu said. "From there, over a 10-year period, we're talking 2,000 to 3,000 acres, and close to a million cases."
