Losses for California wine industry in 2020 due to COVID-19 crisis estimated at $4.2 billion - Sonoma State University

The $4.219 billion loss leads to an estimated total loss to the overall California economy of approximately $9.607 billion in business revenues."The California wine industry's loss will have a ripple effect throughout the California economy because of the strong link to tourism, restaurants and related business sectors. We anticipate a challenging recovery period ahead," said Ray Johnson, executive director of the Wine Business Institute at Sonoma State.
