The U.S. wine market is still tightly regulated by the so-called "Tied House," rules which have been in place since the repeal of Prohibition in 1933. They were designed to not allow any one tier of the business to have "undue," control of the wine sales business. However, their final legacy seems to be curtailing the social media market in some odd ways.
