September 4, 2018 (BRYAN, TX) – With over 1,500 awards and accolades to date, Messina Hof Winery receives another honor as its onsite restaurant, The Vintage House, is named a USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice for ‘Best Winery Restaurant’.

Nominated by a panel of industry experts including editors from USA TODAY, 10Best.com, and relevant contributors, the category’s final selections were made by public voting over the course of a month. More info on the award can be found here: http://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-winery-restaurant/

“In the wine business there are a fair share of opportunities to submit for awards, but it is truly an honor to see our Estate Vineyard and restaurant, The Vintage House, recognized as well,” said Paul Bonarrigo, owner of Messina Hof Winery. He continued, “so much love and hard work goes into making our award-winning wines, but an equal amount of dedication and creativity is put in by our property’s onsite hospitality and culinary team. We are thrilled to see our Vineyard Cuisine™ concept and The Vintage House Restaurant be appreciated on a national scale. We look forward to continuing to welcome guests to share in the outstanding food and wine experience The Vintage House was credited with by the USA TODAY voters.”

The award follows Messina Hof’s takeover at the famed James Beard House in New York City showcasing its culinary program and a selection of its lauded wines. Taking place earlier this summer and led by Vintage House chefs Chris Shepley and Glenn Huggins, the five-course dinner highlighted the restaurant’s signature Vineyard Cuisine™ which incorporates Messina Hof’s 100% Texas wine into each dish and highlighting food and wine pairing affinities. The memorable event titled “40 Years of Vineyard Life” featured two generations of the Bonarrigo family winemakers, Founders Paul Vincent Bonarrigo and Merrill Bonarrigo alongside CEO/Owner and Head Winemaker Paul Mitchell Bonarrigo and Karen Bonarrigo.

A leader in the wine industry and the largest producer of 100% Texas wines, Messina Hof is the most awarded winery in the state. Messina Hof also offers a vast portfolio of more than 90 wines which are currently available to consumers in over 30 states – from single vineyard varietals to port and internationally renowned Sagrantino. In 2017, the family owned winery celebrated its 40th Anniversary. Sprawling more than 100 acres, in addition to housing its onsite restaurant, the winery’s estate location in Bryan, TX features a wine bar, special event spaces, and an 11-room AAA Four Diamond rated Villa Bed & Breakfast. The Vintage House was also named one of OpenTable’s “Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America” in 2015.
