SONOMA, California, March 15, 2018 -- V2 Wine Group of Sonoma, California, and Terroir Selections, which has ownership of three fine wine brands - Mulderbosch of South Africa, Qupé of California’s Central Coast, and Trinity Hill of New Zealand - have entered into a strategic sales partnership effective April 1, 2018. Under the terms of the agreement, V2 Wine Group (V2) will be the exclusive U.S. Importer of Mulderbosch and Trinity Hill and provide sales and marketing services for all three wineries throughout the United States. Mulderbosch, the celebrated South African brand that offered its first vintage in 1994, continues a tradition of innovation and excellence in distinctive wines. Qupé focuses on Rhone varietals and Chardonnay created by one of the masters in California Syrah, Bob Lindquist, and has produced world-class cool climate wines for over 30 years. Trinity Hill, in a stony vineyard in Hawkes Bay, North Island, New Zealand, has for 20 years produced elegant, terroir-defining wines of great structure and intensity.

“We are proud to partner with Terroir Selections and these three incredible Estates,” commented Dan Leese, President of V2. “The addition of Luxury wines from South Africa and New Zealand is very exciting for our portfolio. The quality and distinction of Mulderbosch and Trinity Hill, along with the recognized caliber of Qupé Wines are perfect additions to the V2 portfolio.” His comments were echoed by John Hawkins, CEO of Terroir Capital, “Our growing, super premium brands each have a unique story and dedication to quality and style, and they have found a great home at V2. This team has a track record of success and a true understanding of and respect for fine wineries and their distributor partners.”

With this new agreement, V2 now represents 11 wine families in the North American marketplace. The company’s portfolio, which includes wines that V2 produces, as well as family owned wineries with which it has sales and marketing agreements, has grown steadily since Dan and Katy Leese founded it in 2010. In March of 2017, V2 began a partnership with Delicato Family Vineyards and their collective organizational strengths increase the presence and reach of powerful brands in the market place. V2 services all classes of trade and specializes primarily in wines priced from $15 - $100 plus per bottle.

“We are thrilled to welcome back Bob Lindquist and his extraordinary wines, Qupé is a special brand that needs to be on everyone’s wine list. Entering into South Africa and New Zealand with these acclaimed wineries and adding these countries to our Import collection is fantastic,” added Katy Leese, General Manager of V2. “Our team is looking forward to working with these brands in the market.”

ABOUT TERROIR SELECTIONS’S BRANDS

Mulderbosch Vineyards
Founded in 1989, Mulderbosch Vineyards is widely accepted as one of South Africa’s foremost wine producers. Mulderbosch has a distinguished reputation for producing wines of quality and character and a coveted track record of accolades. Offerings include a varietal Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé; an iconic Sauvignon Blanc; a Chenin Blanc sourced from predominantly old bush vines; the ‘Faithful Hound’ Bordeaux-style blend; and a deliciously decadent Noble Late Harvest made from Sauvignon Blanc.
“We are tireless in our pursuit of making wines of the highest quality that honor our proud heritage and can be enjoyed by all.”

Qupé
Qupé creates wines that are true to type and speak of their vineyard sources. The focus over the last 30 years has been on making wines with impeccable balance that can be enjoyed in their youth, yet can also benefit from aging due to the mouth-watering acidity gained from cool vineyard sites.
Qupé’s winemaking utilizes traditional techniques combined with modern equipment: complete barrel fermentation and malolactic fermentation for the whites, and small, open-top fermenters utilizing manual punch-downs for most of the reds. All wines are aged in French oak barrels, plus a small number of Hungarian barrels, and all biodynamic wines are fermented with native yeasts.
Qupé’s focus over the last 35 years has always been on quality. The winery specializes in cool climate Rhône-style wines and Chardonnay with grapes selected from the Bien Nacido Vineyard in Santa Maria, the Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard in Edna Valley, farmed biodynamically, and the Ibarra-Young Vineyard in Los Olivos, farmed organically.

Trinity Hill
This iconic New Zealand winery celebrates 20 years of world-class winemaking in the famed Gimblett Gravels District of Hawke’s Bay. The story began as an homage to the wines of the Northern Rhone, when cuttings of Syrah from Hermitage, and Viognier from Cote Rotie, were gifted to the founding winemakers.
Those cuttings formed the first plantings of the then lesser-known Hawkes Bay region, and the concept of Trinity Hill winery was born. True to the winery’s roots, great pride is taken in crafting especially food friendly wines made with traditional techniques and innovative varieties.
