NAPA, CA – Tickets for Innovation + Quality 2018, the wine industry’s only forum for ultra-premium winemakers focused on the innovations in processes and products that improve quality, will be released on March 7.

Held May 23-24, 2018 at the Silverado Resort and Spa in the Napa Valley, Innovation + Quality (IQ) 2018, has grown in its fourth year. Now a two-day show, IQ will continue to deliver on is promise of high-quality content with increased attention to the ever-popular winemaker trials, sessions dedicated to only the most important topics, industry partner lounges featuring the latest innovations, as well as increased networking opportunities to inspire old friendships and new ideas.

Renzo Cotarella, the chief enologist and chief executive officer of Marchesi Antinori, will headline the content, kicking off the first day of IQ 2018 with a discussion of quality winemaking across continents and a once-in-a-lifetime tasting of the Marchesi Antinori Cabernet Sauvignon portfolio.

“The Antinori reputation has grown throughout the centuries by making innovative, sometimes courageous, choices to advance wine quality, always with an unwavering respect for tradition and the land,” said Cotarella. “As well as the family’s historical estates in the most important regions of Tuscany, investments have been made over time in other areas highly-suited to quality wine production in a quest to promote new terroirs, rich in winegrowing potential. With Sangiovese representing the soul of Antinori winegrowing, Antinori has developed a fascination for Cabernet Sauvignon that has created opportunities and challenges.”

With family estates and vineyards throughout Italy as well as in Napa Valley, Chile and Washington state, Cotarella has overseen a number of diverse quality improvement ideas and practices. As he leads attendees through a tasting of Marchesi Antinori’s wine production, he’ll discuss the methods, trials and tribulations of producing only the highest quality wines from Italy, the United States and Chile—three considerably different wine regions.

“Innovation and quality are two key factors that drive the Antinori wine business. IQ 2018 is an excellent forum to explore what others have learned and then to find ways to apply these innovative practices to advance wine quality,” he said.

This is an incredible opportunity to learn from one of the world’s leading winemakers, as well as participate in a guided tasting of a selection of 100 percent-varietal and blended Cabernet Sauvignon wines from Marchesi Antinori including: Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva 2015; Guado al Tasso Bolgheri DOC Superiore 2015; Col Solare Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain 2015; Haras de Pirque Albis Maipo Valley 2015; and Antica Napa Valley “Townsend Vineyard” Cabernet Sauvignon 2015.
Sessions, developed by the IQ 2018 Advisory Board, a diverse group of ultra-premium winemakers, industry leaders and innovators, will be announced shortly.
