Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards Celebrates Opening of New Winery to Public

Gordon Fitzpatrick, President, is pleased to announce that Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards, located at the historic Greata Ranch property, have opened their new winery to the public. After 18 months of construction, the Fitzpatrick’s are delighted to showcase their gravity flow facility specializing in sparkling and site specific still wines from a very special place. Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards is just south of Peachland on one of the most beautiful spots on the west side of Okanagan Lake with incredible, natural, undisturbed views of mountain, vineyard and lake. Set apart from other wineries, Gordon Fitzpatrick comments “It’s a little more peaceful here than other places – an oasis. We’ve created a well?polished and refined environment, but it’s also welcoming and inviting – you will be among friends here. Our goal is to define the culture of sparkling wine in the Okanagan Valley through site-revealing wines of international stature and providing remarkable hospitality experiences.”
Visitors will gain an appreciation for the nuances of producing traditional method sparkling wine through tastings at the Sparkling Bar or winery tours highlighting our vineyards, crush deck, barrel room, caves and riddling/disgorging room. There are other unique experiences that extend beyond wine now that our Bistro has opened featuring the cuisine of Chef Tony de Luca and the students from the Canadian Food & Wine Institute at Niagara College. Open seven days a week for lunch, specializing in brunches on weekends, with dinner service on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays during the summer. Chef de Luca is famous for his wood fire pizzas and Mediterranean influenced cuisine. These onsite experiences will be enhanced by Jeff Hanson, Director of Sales and Hospitality, who notes that “We’re just as passionate about the lifestyle around wine as we are about the details that go into making it. In 2014, Senator Ross Fitzpatrick sold CedarCreek Estate Winery to von Mandl Family Estates but retained the Greata Ranch Vineyard property. After 27 years of developing CedarCreek into one of Canada’s premium wineries resulting in two Canadian Winery of the Year awards, the Fitzpatrick’s have now transformed Greata Ranch into a boutique winery offering remarkable on-site hospitality experiences. Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards will focus on traditional method sparkling wine of exceptional quality, but also produce a selection of estate grown and bottled table wines.
