WITS: Exploring Futurist Technology & Its Impact on Wine

Liz Thach, Professor of Wine Business & Management, Sonoma State University along with Joe Rosenberg, Strategic Partner Manager Emerging Business Development, Google, will talk about futurist technology and its impact at on wine at the upcoming Wine Industry Technology Symposium (WITS). WITS will take place Thursday, June 25 and Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Napa Valley Marriott.

This session will look at technology that is already under development and explores how it may impact the wine industry in the future. What can you do to plan and get ready now for these exciting changes? Statistics on ecommerce and social media usage in the global wine industry will be presented, as well as examples from outside the industry on cutting-edge technology implementation to increase sales.

Thach will be providing an overview of recent statistics on global wine ecommerce and technology usage, based on data from 13 countries as well as new consumer usage rates of technology for wine; while Rosenberg will provide examples from outside the industry of how companies are using technology to improve brand awareness and increase sales.
