Halter Ranch Excursion Tour Awarded Best Vineyard Experience
Sunset Magazine has recognized Halter Ranch Vineyard and Winery for their Excursion Tour, naming it the “Best Vineyard Experience”. The winery is one of 30 award winners in the magazine’s first-ever Sunset Travel Awards, which were introduced to honor excellence and innovation in the tourism industry across 13 western states. Halter Ranch is featured in the magazine’s current June issue and on Sunset.com, which reaches six million consumers per month. The new awards honor the West’s top destinations in lodging, dining, cultural tourism, outdoor adventure, environmental stewardship and more.
The Excursion Tour at Halter Ranch allows guests to explore the vast property that spans more than a thousand acres in the Adelaida District AVA, highlighted by oak dotted hillsides, a creek, a reservoir and historic buildings. The tour (Saturdays & Sundays, 10am & by appointment) leads visitors on an adventure that circumnavigates the celebrated property – exploring the vineyard in a restored 1984 Land Rover Defender 110. The three-hour excursion features breathtaking views, entertaining stops and a tasting of some of the exquisite wines of Halter Ranch. Tours can be booked by phone, 805-226-9455, ext. 14 or email, firstname.lastname@example.org.
General Manager Skylar Stuck is thrilled with the award, “We are pleased to be recognized by Sunset for this vineyard experience. At Halter Ranch we want our guests to see the property we’re lucky enough to work with – the vineyards, open spaces, wildlife corridors, winery and caves.
We want our guests to enjoy a sensory experience that includes seeing, touching and tasting Halter Ranch; it’s quite memorable.”
Halter Ranch’s wine portfolio focuses primarily on Rhône and Bordeaux varieties. The 281-acre vineyard is planted to 15 varieties and showcases a series of microclimates that allow the terroir to dictate what is best suited for the unique, sustainably farmed location.
