New Central Coast Custom Winemaking Facility Prepares for Vintage 2013 (News Release)
A new custom winemaking facility, KrushWerks, is opening just in time for the 2013 crush season. Located at the south end of Monterey County in San Lucas, California, the 100,000 square foot facility will process approximately 4000 tons this harvest season.
Leading the charge will be operations expert, John Guffey, and winemaker, Sharon Weeks. With almost 50 years of experience between them, the team has a lengthy and impressive career history, having worked together most recently at Courtside Cellars in San Miguel. Shortly after Courtside was sold to Gallo last year, Guffey and Weeks were presented with the opportunity to take part in the formation of KrushWerks as partners. Other partners include winegrape growers and logistics specialists, Michael Dusi and Matt Dusi, vineyard management consultant Lakhy Sran, and Bill Grant, former co-owner of the Four Vines wine brand.
The KrushWerks team offers a full range of services including vineyard management consulting, grape processing, blending, bottling, storage, and trucking. The company can be reached by calling 805-234-3070, or visiting their website at www.KrushWerks.com.
