Winejobs.com Launches in Canada
Winejobs.com, the U.S. wine industry’s leading online job site, has announced its expansion into Canada, effective July 16. Any Canadian company can post jobs online for free for one year.
“Our management team is traveling to the Enology & Viticulture Conference in Penticton, B.C. to formally launch winejobs.com/canada,” said Wine Business Monthly publisher Eric Jorgensen. “We’ve been covering the Canadian wine industry for more than a decade, and the growth in the number of wineries has reached a threshold where a job site now makes sense for the industry.”
Winejobs.com, which was launched in the U.S. in 2001, receives more than 1 million page views per month. During its first year, there were 264 jobs posted to the site. In 2011, more than 5,000 jobs were posted.
“Winejobs has been providing a great service to the U.S. wine industry, and we see an opportunity to provide a similar service to the wine industry in Canada,” Jorgensen said.
Winejobs.com in the U.S., and now Canada, serves as a resource for both employers and job seekers. Since the online job board is specific to the wine industry, employers find only the most serious and qualified job candidates. For job seekers, it is a portal into the wine business.
“With more than 5,000 jobs posted last year, Winejobs.com is unmatched in usage by those seeking to advance their careers or grow their companies in the wine industry,” Jorgensen said. “We believe we will see similar interest in Canada.”
Another advantage to using winejobs.com/canada is that users can receive free assistance by calling 800-895-9463 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT.
Attendees can visit the winejobs.com/canada booth (#69) at the convention center to learn more about this new service. In addition to information about the new online job service, results from Wine Business Monthly’s 2012 Salary Survey, in reference to the Canadian job market, will be made available for the first time.
