December 09, 2020
NAPA, Calif., September 10, 2020 – From the country’s most-recognized wine regions comes Wine Country Women Heritage Families, a tribute to the women who are continuing their families’ legacies which began more than fifty years ago in the wine industry. Readers will get an inside look at the most notable and respected women in the wine industry and can pre-order their copy, set to publish in November 2021, at winecountrywomen.com. A portion of the proceeds from all pre-purchased books will go to The United Sommeliers Foundation, a fund which provides immediate financial assistance to professional sommeliers struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m excited about this book because it celebrates the women whose families were trailblazers,” says Michelle Mandro, founder of Wine Country Women LLC. “We combined their biographies with anecdotal family stories and added a splash of practicality with a reference of each woman’s favorite wine pairing. It’s truly a fun and inspirational read for any wine lover or business leader.”
Wine Country Women Heritage Families will introduce readers to the “who’s who” of the wine world from the Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Willamette Valley and beyond. Fifty women are expected to be profiled in this first, limited-edition collector’s book by Wine Country Women LLC including the female leaders quoted below:
“From Gustav Niebaum to John Daniel III to John Daniel, Jr. to Robin Lail to Erin and Shannon Lail anything worth doing is worth doing your best,” said Robin Daniel Lail, founder and owner of Lail Vineyards who is continuing a tradition started in 1879 in Napa Valley, California. “In the world of wine, my forebearers made legendary wines. What defines my best in family tradition is to continue that legacy. Wines that rank among the finest in the world.”
“Wente Family Estates is incredibly fortunate to have a legacy of women throughout our 137 years as a wine company,” said Carolyn Wente, CEO of Wente Family Estates in Livermore, California. “Starting in the early 1900’s with the second generation working in the lab and hospitality, to today, with fourth and fifth generation women leading various departments across the organization. We are proud to have new generations of women who are passionate about the family legacy and growing the enterprise value of the vineyards and winery.”
“I am proud to represent all of the women in my hard-working family who have been part of our wine business from the beginning,” says Cheryl Indelicato, board member and family ambassador of the Delicato Family Vineyard, a third-generation family-owned and operated vineyards and wineries business which began in 1924 in Lodi, California.
A few of the other notable women who will be highlighted include Alicia Regusci Hardin of Regusci Winery; Aimee Sunseri of Nichelini Family Winery; Sylvia Taplin of Taplin Cellars; Niki Wente of Wente Family Estates, among others.
The book will be attractive for collectors, lovers of the printed page, and those who savor the wine culture of our time. Signaling a new level of sophistication for true connoisseurs, this limited-edition collector’s book will be a work of art in its own right. One-thousand books will be produced and each will be numbered and signed by the author and displayed in a custom presentation case. The book is being pre-sold at www.winecountrywomen.com for $295.
