Wine Business Monthly Acquires the Eastern Winery Exposition
February 26, 2020
(SONOMA, Calif.) – Wine Business Monthly announced, today, the acquisition of the Eastern Winery Exposition. The Eastern Winery Exposition (EWE) was founded in 2011 by Bob Mignarri, owner of Quality Event Management. The 9th annual symposium is set for March 10-12, 2020 in Lancaster, PA.
Wine Business Monthly will take full ownership of the symposium at the conclusion of the 2020 edition, on March 13, 2020, and begin preparations for the 10th edition to be held March 16-18, 2021 in Syracuse, New York. Organizers Bob Mignarri, Richard Leahy and Marcia Gulino will continue working with the conference in conjunction with Wine Business Monthly to bring exciting and relevant seminars, a lively tradeshow and an important meeting space to those working with and within the Eastern wine industry.
As the largest industry event east of the Pacific states, EWE was designed to provide Eastern U.S. and Canadian wineries, vineyards and suppliers with an easily accessible, low-cost professional meeting place, trade show and Eastern-focused conference.
The 2020 edition will be held at the Lancaster County Convention Center & Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square and feature 35 workshop and conference sessions, opportunities to engage with experts and like-minded professionals, and an exhibit hall with more than 190 exhibiting companies, as well as serve as the co-location of the License to Steal Wine Marketing Conference.
Eric Jorgensen, president of Wine Business Monthly, said, “The wine industry on the East Coast has grown tremendously over the years and we are excited to be part of such an incredible gathering of growers, winemakers, marketers and winery owners. Bob, Richard and Marcia have done a remarkable job over the past decade and we look forward to continuing that relationship to make EWE an essential conference for years to come. We welcome them and everyone involved with Eastern Winery Exposition to the Wine Business Monthly family.”
Bob Mignarri, owner of Quality Event Management, said, “When I decided to launch the Eastern Winery Exposition in March 2011 my hope was to produce a meaningful event that would be well received by the entire Eastern winery industry. My goal was to have a yearly event where the industry would be helped by providing a large marketplace, quality seminar education and ample social/networking opportunities at an affordable and modern facility. I and my team of Marcia Gulino and Richard Leahy have done our best to deliver just that. I have been very fortunate to have Richard and Marcia working with me since day one. It has truly been a pleasure running the Eastern Winery Expo for the Eastern wine industry."
He added, “I am pleased that I was able to make the sale agreement within the industry with such a well-respected and forward thinking company. I am excited to help Wine Business Monthly produce a terrific Eastern Winery Expo next year.”
