Terravant Wine Company Purchases Summerland Winery

 Buellton, CA (March 5, 2019) - Terravant Wine Company, Santa Barbara County’s largest winery announced today that it has purchased Summerland Winery. Founded in 2002, Summerland Winery is located just south of Santa Barbara in the town of Summerland and has built a reputation for producing quality estate-grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

“We are very pleased with this acquisition and what it means to Terravant and the quality of our current portfolio of wines,” said Paul Griswold, chief executive officer and board chairman. “Since securing a $40 million re-capitalization from Raven Capital Management in December, the goal has been to expand our footprint in the Santa Barbara area and beyond.”

Terravant’s focus will be with Summerland’s Coastal Collection wines which consist of a Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon with a targeted retail price of $14.99. They will also continue to offer popular single vineyard wines such as the Theresa-Noelle and Fiddlestix Pinot Noirs along with a select offering of tasting room only wines.

“As we continue to build this company and develop our current national brand portfolio, this is another important step towards our five-year plan of becoming a Top 20 supplier,” said chief sales officer Mike Jackson.

Details of the purchase were not disclosed.
