The Treasure of New Zealand: Winesellers Launches Sea Pearl Sauvignon Blanc in 250ml Cans

Posted on March 11, 2020

Niles, Ill.—Winesellers Ltd., the family-owned, global importer and marketer of fine wines is proud to announce the introduction of Sea Pearl Sauvignon Blanc in 250ml cans (SRP $10.99/2-pack). Sea Pearl is one of the fastest growing brands in the Winesellers portfolio, sourced from Marlborough, New Zealand within the Awatere Valley. A more convenient, sustainable, and portable packaging alternative provides the next progression for Sea Pearl to appeal to modern wine drinkers.

“We’ve seen tremendous growth in Sea Pearl over the past five years,” says Jordan Sager, Co-President of Winesellers. “It’s a perfectly balanced Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc in very attractive and eye-catching packaging at a great price point for consumers.”

Canned wine isn’t the producer’s first foray into alternative and sustainable formats; Sea Pearl is also available in 19.5L stainless steel kegs for on-premise wine on tap.  An early adopter of alternative packaging, Winesellers, Ltd. partners with Free Flow Wines to keg and can premium wine brands like Santa Julia from Argentina, Tiamo Organic from Italy, and now Sea Pearl from New Zealand.

“We are firm believers in the canned wine category and its ability to deliver a premium alternative format with packaging benefits that the new generation wine consumer values,” explains Sager.

Sea Pearl Sauvignon Blanc will be available nationally in 250ml cans in 2-packs with an SRP of $10.99 starting late March.

Founded in 1977 by Yale Sager, Winesellers, Ltd. is a second generation, family-owned and globally recognized importer and marketer of fine wines to the U.S. market. The company’s portfolio represents the finest quality of wines in their respective price category and has widespread distribution in all 50 U.S. states.
