Famous Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Bordeaux Now Available

Posted on November 04, 2019

Chateau la Croix Younan, located in the famous Saint Émilion Grand Cru region of Bordeaux, France, has an objective to produce, in limited quantity, an exceptional wine that could compete with the best wines of the region.

La Croix Younan specializes in ultra-premium wines that showcase the remarkable quality of the region.

No herbicides or pesticides are used. Regular and severe pruning is practiced for a production voluntarily limited to 35 hectoliters per hectare. Depending on the section, leafing, thinning, and cutting is carried out, allowing berries to ripen as long as possible without developing botrytis.

All berries are personally inspected and manually harvested in small crates (10 kgs). Only the best are chosen, sorted and fermented in stainless steel tanks and vinified under a thermos-regulation system in French Oak barrels. The wine-making is done in part in 20 hectoliter vats and 5 hectoliter Sylvain barrels. This technique of integral vinification permits the development of wines that are full, round, smooth and balanced. 60% of production is then aged in 100% French oak barrels.

The beautiful and picturesque location makes for an extraordinary backdrop for a romantic picnic, an outdoor wedding, or a fun afternoon with friends. The beautifully appointed tasting room is open to the public.
