Share a Splash Wine Co. Announces Inaugural Release of High Dive, a Napa Valley Proprietary Red Blend
NAPA, California – November 2, 2017 – High Dive Napa Valley is a limited production, proprietary red that is an homage to the classic Napa Valley blends of the 1970s, showcasing the best of Napa’s terroir with classic restraint. High Dive Napa Valley is SHARE A SPLASH’s first entry into the Napa Valley, luxury wine market.
High Dive is a “Left Bank” Bordeaux styled blend, the first release of the 2014 vintage comprises predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and Cabernet Franc playing supporting roles in the blend.
“Partnering with Peter Heitz, a 4th generation Napa native and Scott Palazzo, who came to the valley in the mid-2000s, represents the true collaborative spirit of Napa” said Yoav Gilat, Founder, SHARE A SPLASH wine co. “It has been an absolute honor to work with them, Peter’s incredible knowledge of Napa Valley’s terroir and Scott’s passion for Bordeaux where he cut his teeth, have led to a wine that I am incredibly proud of and feel reflects the more restrained, elegant style of Napa’s new Cabernet-based blends.”
The vineyard sourcing for High Dive plays a key role in the style and quality of the wine, the Oakville AVA giving ripe fruit and richness, while the Carneros AVA gives a fresh acidity, combined with elegance and finesse. High Dive is meant to be a reflection of those 2 distinct micro-climates, serving up a true assemblage of those sub AVAs.
What’s in a Name?
High Dive follows the carefree and light hearted naming conventions of SHARE A SPLASH’s other wines, such as Cannonball and Angels & Cowboys. The name evokes the unparalleled feeling of anticipation one feels when about to begin a new journey, the freedom when you dive in.
The 2014 Vintage
The Carneros and Oakville growing areas saw near-ideal weather for critical periods of the 2014 vintage. The vintage started off with generous winter rains which quickly broke with an unusually warm early spring. This setup resulted in an early bud break with moist soils, wonderful shoot extension, which proved advantageous for shading the delicate fruit in an extended heat spike in early July. Consistently warm summer temperatures allowed the grapes to mature steadily and develop complex flavors, resulting in elegant wines that couple brightness and a wonderful depth of flavor.

About Scott Palazzo
Scott came to the wine world with a vision formed by both his Italian heritage and his artistic sensibility. At age 19, a summer trip to France evolved into a two-year extended stay. With his guitar on his back, Scott wandered into the small winemaking village of St-E?milion and quickly fell in love with the people, the land, & most of all, the wines. This experience shaped his palate and served as inspiration for the establishment of Palazzo Wines 20+ years later. Learn more about Scott and Palazzo Wines at palazzowine.com.
