Eastern Shore Pruning Clinic
Registration Deadline: Mar 2, 2013
Event Type: Seminars and Classes
Description: The Maryland Grape Growers Association (MGGA) is now registering attendees for its annual grapevine training and pruning workshops. These clinics will educate both new and seasoned growers on the best practices for trellising, training and pruning grapevines of varying ages and varietals and will be tailored to the growing environments found across the state. Other viticultural practices including disease and weed control, fertilization, vineyard equipment and safety, etc., will also be addressed.
The Eastern Shore/Caroline County clinic will take place on Saturday, March 2nd, from 9 a.m. to noon at Harvest Ridge Winery in Marydel, DE, on the aryland border. Harvest Ridge is a young vineyard with seven acres under vine. Plantings include Chardonnay, Merlot, Viognier, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Landot Noir, and Chambourcin, all of which are in their second or third leaf.
Walk-in registration welcome with exact cash or check. Event held rain or shine. An inclement weather date will be provided for extreme rain/snow events. Bring your pruning shears and dress for a day in the field.
